ESA-19 Skilled – Basic

According to the Swedish Work Environment Act and the regulations from the Swedish National Electrical Safety Board, anyone who is working where there is a potential risk of an electrical hazard must have the skills and abilities to be able to identify the consequences of that possible risk and take on the safety measures that are justified for the work task. The ESA standard is a guide to comply to these demands.

This course is intended for electricians or staff working on site or near an electrical installation where the ESA standard is the guide to work with when it comes to electrical safety. The course is designed for you who have recently been introduced to the ESA concept and if work so requires having a necessity for an ESA competence. The participant should have the necessary electrical skills to be able to assimilate the content of the education.

The participant should have the necessary electrical skills to be able to assimilate the content of the education.

This course is designed for anyone that is new to the ESA standard concept or have outdated skills in this area. ESA Skilled is a 2-day course that will give you the required knowledge of how the work should be planned and organized to be carried out in a safe way according to the Electrical Safety Instructions (ESA)

Electrical safety instructions (ESA) cover the operational measures as well as the working procedures for safety work on site or in the area of electrical installations. By complying with ESA, the employer meets the requirements contained in the Work Environment Act to take the measures needed to avoid ill health and accidents. ESA is a clarification and complement to the standard of SS-EN 50110-1.

ESA skilled is a part of ESA 19 which is the electrical industry’s collective safety regulation for the prevention of damage caused by electricity. A part of the regulation contains requirements for training. ESA 19 regulates, among other things, the cooperation between installation owners and contractors and contributes to a mutual standard of the work at different electrical installations.

The training is based on the publications ESA Principles and ESA Work. If you do not have the necessary electrical skills, we recommend the course ESA Instructed person. If you previously have passed ESA Skilled, you can instead choose ESA Skilled – Recurring.
